Wedding survey results revealed
Purple was the most popular colour scheme for brides in 2013, with a trio of puddings the preferred dessert choice, according to revealing data from the nation’s leading authority, Country House Wedding Venues.
With more than 2.8 million page views on the company’s trusted website last year and over 2,500 weddings held at its exclusive destinations, Country House Wedding Venues has a unique insight into the nation’s preferences when it comes to planning that special day.
Its research found the average cost of a wedding at an exclusive venue now stands at £20,000 and couples typically spend 16 months planning for the event, while Saturday remains the most popular day of the week to get married. The average food and drink spend for each guest is between £70 and £80.
Stuart Owens, director of Country House Wedding Venues, says: “Our database of 212,530 people helps us shed light on the habits of brides and grooms when planning for the most important day of their lives.
“We handpick every single destination and turn down far more venues than we accept, so it’s essential that we understand exactly what couples are looking for so we can respond with the right selection of venues.”
The company’s dedicated advisors have almost two decades of expertise in being a friendly guiding voice during this exciting time. They know everything there is to know about selecting the ideal place to get married, with over 150 sites – from historic castles to romantic barns – currently listed in the extensive directory.
